Sunday was much the same as Saturday: spending many hours at the park working on Unit 2 of the Korean textbooks. A group of kids attacked me: “What are you doing?” Showing them my novel and textbooks, they asked me to read aloud the Korean and then translate it into English. I was happy when they left.

Went to Home Plus to finish the workbook portion of Unit 2, and buy a few things. Sat in the only available seat on the bus back to Pocheon, and when the girl noticed I was studying Korean, we had a conversation. Usually I’m too nervous with strangers and unsure of the language, but we managed fine. Even the bus driver said something. She’s an Army nurse in Ildong (the town I visited when I fell asleep on the bus), and it was nice to meet her.
